The Hardin County Clerk's office issues Birth Certificates for in-county and out of county births in Texas. Birth Certificates are $23 and can be issued to the registrant or his/her immediate family members.

Death
The Hardin County Clerk's office issues Death Certificates for in-county deaths only. Immediate family members of the decedent are eligible to purchase a death certificate. The cost is $21 for the first copy and $4 for each additional copy if purchased on the same day.
DEATH APPLICATION
Marriage License
The Hardin County Clerk's office issues Marriage Licenses. Both applicants should appear in person with a valid photo ID. The application must be filled out in office. The fee is $81.00. If the couple has taken the premarital course, Twogether in Texas, the fee is only $21. Please note that marriage licenses are issued 8:00 am until 4:30 pm daily. If you arrive after 4:30 pm, you will have to wait until the following day.

The Hardin County Clerk's office issues Assumed Name Certificates (DBA). The filing fee is $18.

Marks and Brands
Marks and Brands
The County Clerk is required to maintain a record of all livestock marks and brands.
All marks and brands expire on a set 10 year period by the state. All current marks
and brands will expire on August 31 2031. Anyone wishing to file a Mark/Brand, that
is not currently taken, will need to fill out an application with the County Clerk. The
filing fee is $15.00 per single brand or mark for one or more locations on an animal.
Applications are only accepted in person in the Hardin County Clerk’s office, located

ESTRAY ACT (Stray Livestock): - The Texas Agriculture Code, Section 142
provides for a method of disposing estray livestock.
