Food Service Managers are responsible for the daily operation of restaurants or other establishments that prepare and serve food and beverages.

The cost is $125.00 and the certification is good for 5 years.

Class is held from 8 AM to 4 PM at:

It is recommended to bring a laptop or tablet if you have one available for taking your test. You will receive study materials for the class.

Food Handlers are responsible for packaged or unpackaged food as well as the equipment and utensils used to prepare or serve food and/or surfaces that come into contact with food.

Mobile Food Units & Catering

Effective July 1, 2026, Hardin County Health Services will no longer issue permits for Mobile Food Units.

If you operate a Mobile Food Unit, you must contact the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for information on state permitting requirements, licensing, and compliance.

2025 Festival Event Form

Form for any festival or event to be held in Hardin County. These may be paid for at the event, online or in our office. You may get a Temporary Permit for one event or for the year. If you already have a Food Establishment or Catering Permit you will not have to obtain this permit for a Hardin County event. For all events participants are subject to inspection.
